Flat beans have a bright green color, crisp texture and a mildly sweet yet earthy flavor. They originate from South America where they were first cultivated by the Maya and the Inca civilizations before being brought to Europe. In the middle of the 17th, century they were introduced to Greece, where they are now widely grown. They are a rich source of protein as well as fiber and vitamins, and can therefore contribute to a balanced and healthy diet.

Our flat beans are grown in Macedonia and Thrace.

When we grow them
They are sown between April and June and harvested between June and September.

Why they are good for us

Flat beans are high in proteins which contribute to maintaining muscle mass, and a source of fiber. They are also rich in vitamin C which contributes to the collagen formation for the bones to reducing fatigue; and to maintain the normal function of our immune system.
