BARBA STATHIS launches “Little Farmers”, a new educational program for children
BARBA STATHIS recently welcomed members of the local educational community to its facilities in Thessaloniki for a special event dedicated to its educational initiatives for the younger generation. The event marked the launch of the company’s new program, “Little Farmers”, offering participants the chance to learn more about BARBA STATHIS’ ongoing activities designed for elementary school students.
At the heart of the event was the new school garden program “Little Farmers” which has been running since May 2025 in schools across Northern Greece and will soon expand nationwide. Through this initiative, students create their own vegetable gardens in their schoolyards and take part in hands-on workshops focused on sustainable agriculture and nutrition.

During the event, BARBA STATHIS also presented the educational program “Take a Step Toward Healthy Eating” which the company has been implementing for the past four consecutive years. To date, more than 9,000 kindergarten and elementary school students have visited the company’s facilities and its specially designed experiential learning space. Children participate in engaging activities that highlight the nutritional value of vegetables, help them become familiar with the stages of the cultivation process, and raise awareness about food waste.
“At BARBA STATHIS, we invest in children and the new generation. Through our programs and initiatives, we nurture environmental awareness, promote healthy eating habits, and inspire a love for nature. We envision a greener future, in our diets, in our way of life, and, why not, with a school garden in every corner of Greece!” said Katerina Makridou-Oraiopoulou, ESG & Corporate Communication Director at BARBA STATHIS.
