Advancing Climate Neutrality: BARBA STATHIS’ 2024 Progress on SBTi Aligned Emissions Targets
BARBA STATHIS, recognizing the critical importance of climate neutrality and acting as a responsible corporate citizen, has adopted a coherent, long-term strategy to reduce emissions and transition to a more sustainable operating model. As part of this strategy, in 2021 the company’s science-based targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), setting science-based targets for Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
Within this framework, 2024 marked a year of progress toward our commitments. The actions implemented strengthened our trajectory toward a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, achieved through improved energy efficiency and expanded use of clean energy. These measures primarily reduced emissions associated with electricity and stationary combustion.
In parallel, for Scope 3, we significantly enhanced collaboration with suppliers and partners, supporting the phased achievement of the 25% reduction target. Targeted interventions were also implemented for FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) emissions, fully aligned with the corresponding 30% reduction target.
Overall, our 2024 performance confirms the company’s steady and measurable progress toward its SBTi-validated targets.
